THEY CAN BE MUCH MORE THAN WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE..
As i was just walking in my neighbourhood yesterday, nikki comes and asks me, "didi, Pinocchio’s story tells us that we must NEVER lie, is it so?" .But I, probably thought that i was talking to another 18 year old and without a second thought i answer that, "hey cummon, what are you talking about, you can’t live a life without lying, that's ridiculous!!". Immediately, she, with her eyes ......... ,gave a look at me ,as if i was an evil cartoon network , who was going to steal all her Barbie dolls and candy bars. And; ergo, she ran away from me!
OPEN UP YOUNG MINDS..
It seems pretty difficult now to time travel back to your childhood days, re think the utterance .No one can portend the kind of question an eight year old may ask. One of them may ask "Why is my ruler in my pencil pouch straight and not circular" while the other one just starts crying simultaneously and it would take hours for to figure out that he/she just wanted to use the restroom! School teachers would definitely encounter one such days, lashed with interrogations-WHY?, WHAT?, WHEN?, HOW? , Just because they told the kids “C for cat”! Therefore my point being, questioning must be encouraged in a classroom from one's early years itself. You would have also felt sometimes that, "WHOA! Why dint i think like that!" listening to a kid. In a conventional educational system students are merely enticed to accept what is being taught to them. Well, in this process we have lost plenty of Einsteins and Abraham lincolns . A student'scapacity to push the envelope wide open is all lost and at the end of the day you are just another normal person who leads a monotonous life.
WHY IS THIS SO DIRELY NEEDED..
Several studies have shown that 90% of brain growth takes place between 4-12 years of age. Whilst, lots of educationalists demanding the flexibility in the rigour routine and that lots of controversies have been going on about the current system, from my personal endurance i insist that, this change can be effectively brought about from a classroom level itself. Questioning , interacting , pictorial teaching not only makes the school day interesting but it also increases ones urge to learn while the thought process and the rationality of the child's thinking is also improved. Not only it makes learning better , but a child is also well prepared to handle real life problems when he/she steps out of school. Skills to acquaint or envoy people are tremendously improved hand in hand with knowledge growth.
BOTTOMLINE..
Being a college student, my opinion just is an addition to the existing educationalists. Just that there is a slight difference which lies in the fact that, its not just people at higher levels who can make a change, even you , a parent or a teacher or a student or anyone can create a big revolution just by trying towards the goal. All it needs is just little steps which together merge to form giant leaps and take india to the next arena ,keeping in mind that every child born is a gem...
